After a long academic year, the Simply Education team was treated with a day off at Oakley for a day of fun and games. The weather proved in our favour and maintained a sweltering 30 degree constant over the course of the day. A few of us forgot that even in England, none of us are immune to sunscreen!
We began the day dressed to the nines in our best sports gear. Special mention goes out to Stephen Robinson who wore the brightest and most retro get up I have seen in a long time. Not to be outdone, Hollie Kadic and Victoria Shulman looked lovely in their tennis outfits and we even had a referee and cheerleader in our midst.
A hearty breakfast kick-started the day and we all- a little too eagerly-began on our list of games and activities. Divided into two teams, we showed our talent in egg and spoon races, sack races and and aptly named 'crazy relay' ( No surprise that the game makers received a few red-faced frowns and desperate gasps for air)
All was forgiven with the arrival of lunch, and the afternoon lapsed gently into our famous quiz lead by Daniel Black. Although failing miserably at some of his questions, congratulations must be given for a very inventive and entertaining quiz.
The afternoon game of rounders marked the end of our day out with special mention going to Stephen Robinson, Ross Davies, Stephen Belcher and Yvonne Mills for their impressive batting skills. To put it mildly, It wasn't a bad day in the office.
