1:1 Teaching Assistant Needed - Immediate Start
Simply Education are seeking a patient, compassionate, and skilled 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a KS2 student with special educational needs (SEN). This is a crucial role that will make a significant difference in the student's academic and personal development.
The Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a KS2 learner who may display challenging behaviours. You will ensure they receive the individualised attention and support they need to thrive in the classroom environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing one-on-one academic support, ensuring the student remains focused and engaged throughout the day.
Implementing strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours, fostering a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
Adapting learning materials and activities to meet the student's unique needs and learning style.
Collaborating with the classroom teacher and other professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans.
Encouraging the student's independence, self-confidence, and social skills development.
Maintaining accurate records of the student's progress and sharing updates with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with behavioural challenges.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build a strong rapport with the student, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a deep commitment to supporting the student's overall well-being and academic success.
Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to the student's changing needs and circumstances.
A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to learn new techniques and strategies.

For the right candidate, there is a possibility of extending the role into the next academic year starting September 2024.
