English Teacher at Simply Education

Location: Prenton, Birkenhead

Salary: £30,000 to £36,000

Hours: Full Time - 8:30am to 4:00pm

Contract: Long term with a view to becoming Permanent

Start Date: October half term or January start

Simply Education is looking for an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our team at an alternative provision in Prenton. This position involves teaching KS3 and KS4 students, working full-time, 5 days a week.

About the Provision

Our setting supports pupils aged 11-14 with ADHD, ASD, and SEMH needs. We focus on re-engaging students in their education and building their confidence and self-esteem through a multi-agency approach and tailored therapy. With a capacity of 32 students and currently 12 on role, we ensure a bespoke learning approach with small class sizes of 3-5 pupils and a high staff-to-pupil ratio.

In addition to traditional subjects, we offer vocational qualifications in our beauty room and hairdressers and provide life skills activities such as horse riding and team-building exercises.

English Teacher Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status

Ability to plan and teach well-structured and effective lessons in English Language and Literature.

Skilled in developing the confidence, language, behaviour, and social skills of pupils aged 11-16.

Quick thinker, able to adapt easily to new environments.

Understanding of working with students with SEMH needs.

Strong behaviour management skills.

Sense of humour and ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
