QTS Primary Teacher - Kenilworth
Full time - Primary Class Teacher - Early Years
Alternative Primary Provision (Specialist provision) - SEMH
Simply Education are recruiting for a full time Primary teacher within a specialist provision where the childrens' first need is SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.
Where the ethos of the school is growing together and ensuring the pupils' can self regulate their emotions through a range of daily tasks and activities, with a sensory room in the school to ensure that children have a safe, quiet and small space to help regulate their emotions.
As a teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a high quality education to a small group of students aged 4 - 11 years with social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders and mental health needs. Students may present challenging behaviour so having the ability to adapt teaching style and using positive behaviour management is key. Your focus will be on increasing academic and vocational qualifications and knowledge, whilst achieving independent living skills that will equip young people for the next stage in their lives, be that further education, training, or work.
Contribute to the delivery and development of the national curriculum and having a regard to the educational, physical, and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Maintain and use short-, medium- and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum.
Set, monitor, and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each- individual.
Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation, and challenge.
A passion for activities
Qualities Required for the Teacher Position:
Essential: PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
To be able to confidently deliver lessons
Ability to work as part of team.
Good teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording and reviewing students’ progress.
Good IT skills and understand of how IT can be used to support learning.
Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment.
Proven ability to work on own initiative, be well organised, prioritise effectively and achieve results against deadlines.
Ability to engage students in positive enabling relationship
