Behaviour Management - SEMH teachers are skilled in managing challenging behaviours that may arise due to emotional or mental health issues. They use positive behaviour management techniques to create a supportive and structured learning environment.
Building Self-Esteem - SEMH teachers work to boost students' self-esteem and self-confidence, helping them recognize their strengths and potential.
Patience and Resilience - Working with students who have SEMH needs can be challenging, so SEMH teachers need to have a great deal of patience and resilience to provide consistent support.
Understanding and Empathy - SEMH teachers need to have a deep understanding of the emotional and mental health issues that students may face. They must also demonstrate empathy and a non-judgmental attitude toward their students.
