Behaviour Support Year 5 Teaching Assistant

SEMH / 1:1 Support

Long-term supply contract

Do you have experience working with children with special education needs? Are you looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference to people’s lives? Simply Education have an excellent opportunity for a teaching assistant in the Central Manchester area.

At Simply Education, we’re looking for a SEN teaching assistant to work closely with a primary school in the Central Manchester area, M11. To provide support for a child in Year 5 with complex needs. The school are happy to accept qualified or unqualified teaching assistants, with the preference that they have experience working with SEN children in KS2 or transferrable skillsets working with children.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is nurturing and who is able to build a rapport with the child and ability to manage challenging behaviour. You will be supporting the child in class, within a small group and during their playtimes.

The Role:

SEMH – Behaviour Support within KS2 (Year 5)

1:1 support / small group support

Withdrawal work when necessary

Full time / 5 days a week

We are looking for someone who has any of the following or transferrable skillsets:

•          Has experience working with Children with Special Education Needs

•          Has experience working within SEN schools

•          Has strong classroom management skills

•          Can close the gap in performance of pupils with special education needs or disabilities

•          Can quickly build rapport with staff and students
