Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 3)
Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire East
Salary: £13.00 - £13.72 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Hours: 40 hours per week – Term Time Only
Contract: Permanent
Simply Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our school in Wilmslow, a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to flourish and grow. Our school is designed for students requiring additional support, especially those with sensory and emotional needs that make mainstream education challenging. We aim to help each student unlock their potential through personalised learning, therapeutic support, and small class sizes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support for students with SEN, including those with SEMH or ASD
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Work closely with teachers and specialists to deliver tailored education plans
- Assist students in overcoming challenges and re-engaging with their learning
- Support pupils’ emotional well-being and social development
- Promote a safe, respectful, and engaging atmosphere where each student’s uniqueness is celebrated
Skills and Qualifications:
- Level 3 Qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) is essential
- GCSE Maths and English (Level 3 or above)
- Experience working with SEN in a professional or voluntary capacity is advantageous but not essential
- Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
- Ability to adapt and meet the diverse needs of students
- A positive, creative, and child-first approach
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car is desirable
