Our school is a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. The school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment for its students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are currently seeking an Interim SENDCo to join the team and continue their mission of inclusive education.

Role Overview:

As an Interim SENDCo, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' educational development and well-being with SEND. This is a non-teaching position dedicated to ensuring the provision of practical support, guidance, and coordination of SEND practices within the school.

Key Responsibilities:

-Assessment and Identification: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to identify and assess SEND students' needs.

-Support Planning: Develop and implement personalized support plans, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and adjusted.

-Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to school staff on best practices for supporting -students with SEND.

-Compliance: Ensure the school's SEND policies and practices meet statutory requirements.

-Parental Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents and involve them in their child's educational journey.

-Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of SEND students' progress and provide regular reports to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

-NASEN (National Association for Special Educational Needs) Award Certificate or equivalent.

-Relevant experience in a SENDco or similar role.

-Knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices.

-QTS
