Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an empathetic and motivated SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide critical support to students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. In this full-time role, you will work closely with our team to enable students to develop confidence, resilience, and coping skills.

Responsibilities:

Provide 1-on-1 and small group interventions to support students' SEMH development.

Help implement personalized strategies and behaviour plans tailored to each student's needs.

Build trusting relationships with students through active listening and compassion.

Teach and model positive social skills, emotion regulation, conflict resolution, and coping techniques.

Collaborate with teachers to integrate SEMH-promoting activities into the classroom.

Monitor student progress and adapt support strategies as needed.

Maintain detailed records on interventions, student behaviors, progress, and communications.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with SEMH difficulties like anxiety, depression, trauma, etc.

In-depth knowledge of emotional, social, and mental health challenges faced by students.

Strong communication, creativity, patience, and problem-solving abilities.

High school diploma; degree in psychology, counselling, or education preferred.

Dedication to nurturing students' wellbeing and personal growth.
