About the School:

Simply Education is currently working in partnership with an independent Special School based in Blackpool looking for a Teacher. The School provides bespoke learning opportunities for young people aged 11-18 with complex needs who have previously experienced trauma. The setting focuses on changing students’ mindset and giving their students tools to be successful in their future.

The Teacher role:

We are looking for a Teacher to deliver a variety of lessons to students with complex needs. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality bespoke Maths, PSHE and Food Technology lessons to students in Y7 to Y11 often displaying challenging behaviour. The role will include delivering other subjects in the afternoons several times a week. With the School being an independent smaller School, you will also be delivering lessons for other subjects including Science, PSHE and Food Technology but not at a GCSE level.

Due to the nature of the role, QTS and prior experience teaching is essential. The ideal Teacher would be able to commit to a full-time role Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4pm as students receiving consistency is vital.

Key Responsibilities for the Teacher:

- To deliver high-quality bespoke lessons to students often displaying challenging behaviour

- Support the students to become re-engaged with their learning.

- Model and promote high behaviour expectations as a SEMH Teacher.

- Communicate effectively and build rapport and common interests with the students to inspire and motivate them.

Key Requirements for the Teacher:

- An understanding of working with disengaged students.

- PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status

- Knowledge and experience teaching a varied curriculum.

- Resilience and the ability to model and promote high behaviour expectations.

- Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
