Job Vacancy: Primary School Teaching Assistant
Location: Salford, Greater Manchester
Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time
Description of the Role:
We are currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team a lovely primary school in Salford. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant and inclusive primary school, supporting the educational and emotional development of young learners. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to ensure that all students have the support they need to succeed academically and personally.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping children achieve their best in a nurturing and supportive environment. You will play a key role in supporting the teacher with classroom activities, working with students both individually and in small groups, and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the class teacher in planning, delivering, and supporting lessons that are engaging and accessible to all students.
Provide individual and small group support to students, particularly in core subjects such as literacy and numeracy.
Help implement tailored learning plans for children with additional needs, ensuring they receive the support required to reach their full potential.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where children feel confident to ask questions and actively participate.
Support students with their social and emotional development, helping to build confidence and resilience.
Monitor students’ progress and share feedback with the class teacher to assist in tracking individual achievement.
Help manage classroom behavior and support the teacher in maintaining an orderly and positive classroom environment.
Assist with preparing teaching materials and resources for lessons and activities.
Provide supervision during breaks and lunchtime, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to help support the learning and development of children.
Applicant Requirements:
A passion for working with children and a commitment to supporting their learning and well-being.
Previous experience working in a primary school setting or with children (desirable but not essential).
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude when working with children.
An understanding of the needs of children with special educational needs or additional learning needs (training can be provided).
A proactive approach to supporting children’s learning and development in both academic and personal growth.
Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this if necessary).
