Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Northwich, Cheshire

Position Overview: Simply Education is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding academy trust in the Northwich area. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children with SEND.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, ensuring their individual needs are met effectively.

Assist the class teacher in implementing Education Health Care Plans (EHCP’s) and behaviour management strategies.

Collaborate with other members of the SEND team to create a supportive learning environment.

Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their well-being and academic progress.

Support students during classroom activities, ensuring their participation and engagement.

Help to create and adapt learning resources to suit the needs of individual students.

Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).

Assist with personal care and medical needs of students, if required.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.

Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are advantageous.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students.

A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
