Simply Education is recruiting for a Primary Teacher - SEN in the Northampton area to support a small class of primary school children. As a primary Teacher for a SEN role, you will a class of 6 to 12 children with EHCP's. You will have a team of Teaching Assistants to support you within the classroom.

A Primary Teacher of SEN will be challenging at times but extremely rewarding. You will experience challenging behaviour, a variety of learning styles and catering for different needs. You will be creating lesson plans and sourcing resources to support your primary teaching for SEN students in your class! As a teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality education to a small group of students with social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders and mental health needs. Students may present challenging behaviour so having the ability to adapt teaching style and using positive behaviour management is key.

Full time - Primary Class Teacher

Salary : £135 - £160 a day

Contract : Daily Cover / Long Term Roles Available

Hours : 8:30 till 4:30 - Monday to Friday

Key duties:

Contribute to the delivery and development of the national curriculum and having a regard to the educational, physical, and social needs of the students within a learning environment.

Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Maintain and use short-, medium- and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum.

Set, monitor, and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each- individual.

Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.

Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation, and challenge.

A passion for activities

Qualities Required for the Teacher Position:

Essential: PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training

To be able to confidently deliver lessons

Ability to work as part of team.

Good teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording and reviewing students’ progress.

Good IT skills and understand of how IT can be used to support learning.

Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment.

Proven ability to work on own initiative, be well organised, prioritise effectively and achieve results against deadlines.

Ability to engage students in positive enabling relationship
