Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Start: April

Location: Bredbury

Salary: £90 per day

Hours: Full time – Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 4:45pm

Are you passionate about education and committed to supporting students to reach their full potential? We are currently working in partnership with an SEMH Secondary School in Bredbury. They are seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a full time position starting in April with a view for a permanent contract for the right person. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals to take on a new role and suitable for any candidates currently teaching in mainstream to make the transition into something new.

About the school:

The setting caters for children ages 11-17 with additional needs. The school has lovely facilities for outdoor play, a large kitchen for food technology sessions and calming rooms with soft furnishings for the students to relax and unwind in. The School is dedicated to developing students social and emotional development as well as their academic achievement. The school curriculum is well matched to pupils’ needs and the children have a range of special educational needs and emotional trauma.

The role:

It is not essential to have a teaching assistant qualification but due to the nature of the role, the school is ideally looking for a Teaching Assistant OR individuals that have relevant experience working with pupils in a School, Youth Centre, Residential care setting or similar role.

Requirements:

- An understanding of working with students with SEND

- Strong communication skills with pupils and an understanding of pupils behaviour patterns when experiencing complex needs and trauma

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents effectively.

- Additional skills such as Sport, Music and Art are a bonus
