We are seeking an empathetic Teaching Assistant to support and provide critical support to students with mental health challenges. In this role, you will work as part of our team to enable students to develop resilience, coping strategies, and emotional wellbeing. As a Teaching Assistant supporting Mental Health you will be supporting children in learning and understanding themselves, supporting their needs if they have an EHCP. You will also be supporting young people within education to thrive and develop both academically and personally as a Teaching Assistant supporting Mental Health.

Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant Supporting Mental Health :

Provide 1-on-1 and small group interventions to support students' mental health needs.

Help implement personalized plans and strategies tailored to each student's needs.

Build trusting relationships through active listening, compassion, and emotional support.

Teach and model healthy coping techniques, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and regulation skills.

Monitor student progress and collaborate with counsellors to adapt support strategies.

Maintain detailed records on interventions, behaviours, therapeutic progress, and communications.

Uphold confidentiality standards when handling sensitive student information.

Requirements for a Teaching Assistant Supporting Mental Health :

Experience working with children with mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, etc.

In-depth knowledge of child cognitive, emotional, and behavioural development.

Strong communication, patience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Relevant degree in psychology, counselling, child development, or related field.

Dedication to nurturing students' mental health and personal growth

Salary : £90 - 110 a day

Contract : Daily Cover / Long Term Roles Available

Hours : 8:30 till 4:30 - Monday to Friday

The successful candidate will be required to:

- Subject to two years of satisfactory references
