Simply Education is currently recruiting for teaching assistants to start work from May 2024 in friendly primary schools in North East Lincolnshire (Grimsby / Cleethorpes). These schools provide education for children aged 4-11 years old, and you may be required to work across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
We have a range of opportunities available to suit you, whether you are needing part-time or full-time hours.
As a teaching assistant you will provide support to teachers and students in the classroom and during other activities. Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is an advantage but not essential as we can provide many FREE CPD courses to enhance your existing skills.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and delivery, including setting up equipment and materials
Working with individual or small groups of students to reinforce learning and provide additional instruction under the teacher's guidance
Promoting student independence and self-confidence with learning
Monitoring student behaviour and maintaining order by applying classroom rules and school policies
Assisting with assessing student comprehension of lessons and materials
Preparing classroom materials
Supervising students outside of classroom time, e.g. lunch breaks, drop off/pick up times
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with children in an educational setting
Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students
Patience and ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning needs
Good organisational and time management abilities
Enthusiasm for helping students learn and grow
