Teaching Assistant

Simply Education is hiring for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a Friendly Secondary School in the Sleaford Area. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking either an immediate start after the May half-term break or a September 2024 start date. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a school setting in the past, however people with relevant work experience are also encouraged to apply.
The Role:
Working alongside teachers, the Teaching Assistant will provide in-class support to facilitate an inclusive learning environment for all students. You will assist with preparation of materials, delivery of lessons, and one-to-one/small group interventions. Experience working specifically with teenagers is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Support teaching and learning activities within the classroom
Encourage student participation and understanding through individual attention
Implement strategies to manage behaviour and promote engagement
Assist with admin tasks like Making resources, photocopying, record keeping
Supervise students during break times as required
Liaise with teachers to gain insight into learning plans
Requirements:
Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant at secondary level (supporting ages 11-16)
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies
Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
Flexibility, creativity and a caring, patient approach
Commitment to ensuring all students achieve their potential
The ideal candidate will be passionate about nurturing teenage learners and driving positive academic and social outcomes. Previous TA experience in a secondary setting is essential.
