Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Bolton

Salary: £100 per day

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday - 8:20am to 4:20pm

Start: Mid April, Temp to perm with 14 week probation

The School:

Simply Education is working with a School in Bolton with a great environment for learning. This is an opportunity to join an established team in a non-maintained special school for pupils aged 3 to 19 years old. The children in this setting have a variety of needs including ADHD, ASD, Hyper mobility issues, early childhood trauma and English as an additional language. The school runs sessions in their own swimming pool and has great resources for learning with a varied curriculum.

The role:

We are looking for a teaching assistant who can provide support to pupils across Primary and Secondary to ensure that they are engaged during activities. The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will be an individual who is nurturing with the ability to build rapport quickly and establish great relationships with pupils. In this role, every day will be different and being able to adapt is an important skill that is required.

We are searching for someone who engages well with the pupils and has strong behaviour management qualities. Pupils in the school have diagnosed SEND and SEMH. You must be able to build rapport with both pupils and school team members. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be calm and nurturing with the ability to build great relationships with pupils. Each day will be different from the last therefore being adaptable is very important.

Requirements:

- Experience working with young people

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents effectively.

- Additional skills such as Sport, Music and Art are a bonus
