Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Simply Education is proud to offer an exciting opportunity for a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our team in Chester. This role involves working closely with students with special educational needs to support their learning and development within a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

Assist class teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities to meet the individual needs of SEND students.

Support students with sensory, physical, or communication difficulties in their day-to-day activities.

Implement strategies to manage behaviour and promote positive social interactions among students.

Work collaboratively with other members of the school staff, including SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), to ensure the provision of appropriate support for SEND students.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding their child's development.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.

A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of SEND students.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students and the school environment.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
