Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and support children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in their educational journey. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide individualized support to students, helping them develop academic, social, and life skills.

Responsibilities:

- Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism.

- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons and activities.

- Help create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

- Support students in developing social skills and fostering positive peer interactions.

- Assist with behaviour management strategies and interventions as needed.

- Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including therapists and parents, to support student progress.

- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

Qualifications or Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or related field preferred.

- Experience working with children with autism or other special needs.

- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and evidence-based interventions.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
