Job Description: Simply Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Primary Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school community in Ellesmere Port. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they have equal access to education and opportunities to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with SEND, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities.

Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), adapting teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.

Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to monitor student progress and contribute to the development of personalized learning strategies.

Promote positive behaviour management techniques and intervene effectively in challenging situations to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

Support students during transitions between activities and locations, providing reassurance and encouragement as needed.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to the ongoing assessment and evaluation process.

Requirements:

Relevant experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting.

A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with students.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

An understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.

A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in education.

Relevant qualifications or training in supporting children with SEND (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, SEN Diploma).
