Are you looking to make a difference to the lives of young people?

We are looking for a passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our school and support our secondary students with their mental health and behaviour management needs.

In this role, you will be helping a variety of students aged 11-18 in their personal development by providing mental health support and behaviour management. You should be confident in working with the students, helping them to understand their environment and build self-confidence. You will also be providing support to teachers in a range of areas including implementing behaviour management strategies, supporting students to develop social skills and helping them with self-regulation strategies.

Qualities you will need:

1. To build meaningful working relationships with pupils and colleagues based on trust, respect and unconditional positive regard.

2. To work with and at the direction of teachers in the classroom setting and/or in conjunction with other timetabled activities.

3. To provide support and individual direction for children in the classroom both with regard to their academic work and their social/emotional/ behavioural needs.

4. To assist teaching staff in the preparation of materials and resources and to play an active part in ensuring that classroom displays are appropriately maintained.

5. To provide morning break time supervision on a rota basis.

6. To provide support for individuals and small groups at the direction of teaching staff, the Headteacher or Deputy Heads of School.

7. To set an appropriate role model for our pupils.

8. To assist with or lead the provision of a breakfast club.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA). The successful candidate will help promote positive mental health and healthy behaviour management of our students.
