About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant in this specialist setting, you will work closely with students aged 12-18 who exhibit challenging behaviour. Your role will be pivotal in improving student motivation, boosting self-esteem, fostering positive relationships between students and staff, and promoting positive behaviour within the learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students with SEMH requirements, both in and out of the classroom.

Assist in implementing effective behaviour management strategies to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment.

Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and deliver individualized support plans for students.

Build strong rapport with students to facilitate engagement and academic progress.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with challenging behaviour within an educational or similar setting is essential.

Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and the ability to apply them sensitively and effectively.

Empathetic and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
