When schools are in need of staff and cannot fill their vacancies internally, they rely on supply teachers and teaching agencies to provide cover for various positions, including long-term and short-term, part-time and full-time. Every day is different for supply teachers – one morning they may be covering PE and then in the afternoon they are making sculptures in Art class! Working on such short notice and being in a constantly changing environment means that supply teaching can be a stressful job, and we believe that supply staff are often undervalued in society.
In celebration of National Supply Teacher Week - which usually falls on the third week of June - we conducted a survey to gain a little insight into the daily lives of our hardworking, dedicated supply teachers. As a token of appreciation for completing our survey (and for all of the fantastic work that they do inside the classroom), one of our supply teachers will win a £50 gift voucher*. The winner will be announced soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
